Bodyscapes (ongoing) is a project that’s been developing over the past four years, exploring visual ideas that relate to the common, unsettling feeling of always striving to be somewhere other than where you are - of being lost, and longing for something else.
Whether in the form of nostalgia for past memories, a hope for possible futures or a physical pull to a far away horizon, I’m interested in the tension that comes from our desire for distance against the struggle to feel content with our here and now.
Focusing on the relationship between the body and the land, this work explores the concept of the body as a porous entity, intimately connected to its surroundings. It examines the connections we seek within places, people, and objects to ground ourselves and reconnect with the immediate world around us.
