Suzie Howell’s debut book, a bowl of tears to drink, started with a question: What does it mean to live a clear and certain life?

Set in an Anglican convent in South Wales, a bowl of tears to drink is the result of a long-form conversation between Howell and the five sisters of Tymawr — women who have chosen a path of devotion, silence, and spiritual inquiry.
